Eco friendly hard drives consume much less power and they promise more speed than normal USB hard drives. A number of leading brands have come up with eco friendly hard drives and each claim to be more energy efficient than the other; some of the popular ones have been discussed ahead.

Recently, Fabric launched an external hard drive by the name of SimpleTech [re]drive that features Turbo USB 2.0. The hard drive claims to be one of the most eco friendly external hard drives in the world and it also promises 25% more speed than normal USB 2.0.
