Intelligent Picture and Sound Pusher (iPSP) is a popular media management solution for PlayStation Portable. This application was launched with an aim to offer the PSP fans an easy way to transfer media files from PC to PSP and vice versa. It also offered a simple management console to manage all the PSP media files. The initial version of iPSP was a great hit but it suffered from lots of loopholes.
The third version of iPSP offers some unprecedented features over its previous incarnation. The look and feel of the application has been totally revamped to make file management easier. It has got a left-sided media pane that has got all the tools and options. This means the users can now control all activities via media pane, just think it as a control panel of your PC that offers everything configurable at one place. Of course, you can also use the iPSP Mac version on your Apple MacBook Pro, so it is not restricted to PC use. Moreover, iPSP supports dragging n dropping function. You can simply drag n drop files to add them to the media-pane and view its contents in the main window. This makes iPSP 3.0 look like Windows Explorer.
Like its predecessors, the iPSP 3.0 lets the users to transfer full iTunes playlists to their PlayStation Portable. It also features new video compression technology and can convert MPEG, AVI, MOV, WMV, VOB, VIDEO_TS, DV and High Definition Video (.m2t) into MPEG-4 and AVC files (the two main PSP compatible formats).
The iPSP also features a new Homebrew Tab that not only allows the users to transfer “eBoot” files to PSPS but also allows customisation of homebrew application’s art and icons. If you are experiencing any compatibility issues with homebrew applications then the iPSP 3.0 can easily convert the ‘eLoader’ file into a format acceptable by the homebrew firmware.
