The Sony PlayStation Portable is an awesome handheld gaming console. Almost every pro gamer and majority of other people are familiar with this device. Popularly known as the PSP, the PlayStation Portable not only offer sophisticated gaming on the go but also unlocks a complete world of digital entertainment right in your hands. This handheld machine possesses lots of exciting capabilities that make it a versatile device.

One such great feature of PSP is the ‘Game Sharing’ option. Have you ever wished to play a game that is not with you but your friend has its UMD? If yes, then the Game Sharing function can help you at this point. Say your friend has a copy of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 3, but you forget to bring yours. Don’t fret, instead simply connect your two PSPs wirelessly. Then the person with the UMD of the game must enable the game transition and the person who is receiving the game must enable the game sharing option. Basically, by doing this the game data is copied to the RAM of that handheld that is receiving the game over wireless connection at a rate of 11 megabits per second. This is also known as Ad Hoc gaming.

However, the Ad-hoc gaming is not a permanent solution. Once the host PSP is set back to main menu the session is also terminated. The user receiving the game is not allowed to save the game data on the memory stick. Another downside of Ad-hoc gaming is that not all the PSP titles support Game Sharing feature, but still it’s something that can be of great use in certain situations.
