TALKMAN is one of the greatest applications ever developed exclusively for the PSP handheld console. It’s basically a language software programme that acts as a translator as well as the language tutor. But don’t mix it with any other language software because the Talkman breaks the boredom and follows a playful approach. It’s more like a game than a digital teacher.

Talkman can help you gain proficiency in six different languages that includes English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese. It was originally developed for Japanese PSP owners with an aim of teaching English to them. Since then Talkman became very popular because of its high success rate and now it’s totally revamped for all the PSP users worldwide. The UI of Talkman is interesting, interactive and easy to use. You learn while you play. There are loads of exciting exercises that will introduce you to the A-B-C’s of different languages. After completing a certain level you will be exposed to the next higher one and this way you will get hold of foreign languages. The best feature of this application is the Talk Mode in which you can choose from a variety of real life scenarios such as hotel, airport, theatre and much more. Each of the scenarios is backed by a directory of context sensitive questions, which are part of general discussions. All you have to do is to set the language in which the question will be asked and the Talkman will read it loud in that language. Talkman is very useful practically as it enables the user to understand the other person’s language, and more importantly the intended meaning of whatever is being said to him.

Talkman comes with an impressive silver coloured microphone. It also offers the users a nice and friendly companion named Max that guides them throughout the session. Max is a blue coloured bird and is highly interactive.
